The contract for the financial support of the fortress reconstruction project has been signed.
As part of a ceremony the support contract of the project named 'The World of Border Castles – Sirok Cave Fortress, Tourist centre' was signed in Sirok lower castle on 29 March 2010. The investment belongs to the domain of New Hungary Development Plan, Northern Hungary Operative Programme. Dr. Kálmán Varga, director of the National Trustee of Monuments emphasized that owing to the EU tenders Sirok Fortress is the eighth Hungarian monument that received substantial support for its renovation. He also stressed the exemplary cooperation with the local government. He presented István Lakatos, Mayor of Sirok, with the document of the first honorary member of Supporting Association of the National Trustee of Monuments.
